Some people have asked me, is $1000 Singapore dollars enough to survive a week in Singapore? Short answer is, if you have already settled your flight and accommodation, and looking to travel Singapore with the remainder of any budget, then I have bad news for you. However, if those 2 big ticket items are settled, then the answer is a resounding YES!

While it is possible to travel Singapore on a budget, the most expensive thing that you will likely spend on are your flights (also depending on where you are flying from) and your accommodation. The rest of your itinerary, especially on certain attractions and food, can be relatively budget-friendly. Things like certain cultural sights, like Chinatown and Little India is free if you just walk the streets and visit some of the sightseeing spots, and have hawker centres nearby that can provide a cheap meal as well. In fact, some of the best food experiences you can have here is the fact that you don't have to splurge for a good meal :)

Further, most people come to Singapore to explore the Marina Bay and Gardens By the Bay area, the exterior skyline is free of charge, and only if you visit the Skydeck or enter the attractions within the Gardens by the Bay would you have to pay. However, if you are here just to take a few solid photos as a bucket list item, it can be relatively friendly on your wallet.

Public transport (with the exception of taxis and private hire vehicles) is generally reasonably priced, and 1 hack is that if you sit another bus or train within 45 minutes, it is calculated as a single fare! However, my take is not to rush between attractions, enjoy the places and take it as slow as you wish.
